Lidl GB is seeking views regarding a fresh proposal for a new store at Monks Cross shopping park in York.
Residents may recall that planning permission was granted for a new store at this site earlier in the year. Lidl has unveiled a brand-new store format which is more sustainable, includes a larger sales area, and delivers the shopping experience our customers deserve. This will require knocking down the former TK Maxx and Argos buildings, and these will be replaced by the new Lidl foodstore, and car parking.
A new planning application is required for this new and improved store, so we would like your views on our revised proposals.
If you have any questions about the proposals, please email lidlmonkscross@new-stores.co.uk or call 0800 089 0361.
A new and modern Lidl store on this site at Monks Cross will provide a spacious and attractive shopping environment, offering all of your favourite high-quality products at Lidl’s low prices. The site is well-located off Monks Cross Drive and would occupy the former TK Maxx store.

137 parking spaces including accessible and parent & child bays, as well as covered cycle parking
Landscaping across the site including tree planting and soft landscaping
Enhanced environmental features including solar panels on the roof and rapid electric vehicle chargers in the parking area. Lidl has an ongoing commitment to enhance the sustainability of its stores
